Whether you are single or attached, staying in or going out, Valentine’s Day is a great time to try a new hairstyle.

A recent Cosmopolitan article stated men prefer women to have natural looking hair. Examples of this would include hair that is straight, sleek or shiny. Additionally, some men like girls with short hair, such as pixie cuts, as it makes them seem more confident.

But if you aren’t looking to chop your locks, consider trying a new style for V-Day. Cosmopolitan suggests easy-to-do looks like a messy updo, or a simple side ponytail.

Other fun ideas, according to Divavillage.com, are soft, bouncy curls that can be made with old-fashioned hot rollers. Fun accessories, such as off-beat ribbons, bows or clips, can help make any style sparkle.

For an added touch of fun, try Pro Extension clip-in human hair highlight streak packs. Most packets come with 6 (1.5) inch clips containing 18 inches of hair. Festive Valentine’s Day colors such as pink or red are available! And best of all, these highlights are 100% human hair!

Once your hair is done, makeup should be another consideration whether you are going out to dinner with someone new, or celebrating the occasion with a long-time love. According to ivillage.com, three basic Valentine’s Day looks include soft and romantic, vivid and sexy or lovely and smoldering.

If you are going for soft and romantic, keep the makeup simple and light, with mute colors. Ivillage.com suggests purchasing a nice, pink lip gloss with a brown undertown.

For those who prefer vivid and sexy, consider applying false eyelashes, paired with a glittery eye shadow. Top off your look with a bright lipstick such as red or plum.

To look lovely and smoldering, try using a Smokey eye shadow with jewel-toned lip color.

What do celebrities like Jessica Biel, Ashlee Simpson and Drew Barrymore and have in common?

The answer- Ombre hair! For those who don’t have a clue what we are talking about, it means hair that has exaggerated, dark roots that gradually fade to lighter, more highlighted ends. According to About.com, Ombre is French for “shaded,” or “shading.”

Many hairstylists recommend this trendy look for those who are looking for a low-maintenance style. After all, you won’t have to touch up your roots as frequently because the top part of the hair is supposed to be darker than the rest.

Ombre hair can be done in many shades and colors. Ashlee Simpson, for instance, sported the look with jet black roots with the color eventually fading to a medium brown. Cameraon Diaz took the opposite approach with dark, golden blonde roots and a more vibrant blonde at the tips.

With this look, you either love it or leave it. Those who love it tend to favor the low-maintenance, no fuss vibe it has to offer, as well as the fact that the look is easy to achieve for all hair colors.

Those who hate it see the look as sloppy and unpolished, like you didn’t have time to dye your roots or let your highlights grow out for too long.

If you are thinking about trying the Ombre look, Hellobeautiful.com offers a few helpful tips before taking the plunge. For starters, think about your profession and confidence levels. The bold look may draw attention, so if you prefer to stay out of the limelight, this look may not be for you.

Secondly, pick tones that work well with your complexion and wardrobe, keeping colors season-appropriate. Lastly, if you have previously colored hair, it might be a good idea to ask a stylist to do create the look to eliminate the possibility of a bad outcome.

A new year has dawned and with it comes a plethora of fresh hair fashions. And whether your hair is long or short, there is a style for all hair lengths.

For those with long hair, fashionsing.com recommends homemade curls. Creating a 50s style vibe, homemade curls are an easy look to achieve. Simply part damp hair to one side and secure with a bobby pin. Tuck the other side of the hair behind your ear. Next, section the back of your hair and begin using a curling iron to create lose curls. Once all the hair has been curled, DO NOT brush it or finger comb. Instead, spray with hairspray and the look is complete!

According to Harper’s Bazaar, glistening hair is a new spring trend. Many looks within this fashion include hair that appears wet or damp at the roots. Slicked-back hair is also popular with ponytails. Messy knots that appear wet and dripping are also in style. On days when you don’t have time to wash your hair, this look can be a lifesaver!

Fringe bangs are also a popular new trend for those with short hair, according to fashionsing.com. Fringe bangs look best with bobs or pixie crops. However, if the thought of cutting bangs is a little unsettling, www.proextensions.com offers a line of clip-in Pro Fringe bangs that could be a great alternative!

British Vogue also reported that braids worn wrapped around the head, or tied with bits of leather, were also highly fashionable. This look could easily be achieved by those who have medium to long hair.

With a team of hairstylists constantly ready and waiting, celebrities can change their hairstyles as easily and often as they want.

But for regular, everyday girls, taking the plunge from blonde to brunette or chopping off long locks can be scary and expensive.

For those looking for a change but are uncertain about what to do, www.beautyriot.com/hairstyles is a great place to start. Packed with tons of celebrity-inspired hairstyles, you can select your hair length, color and face shape and get instant recommendations!

For example, Kirsten Dunst has been known to rock a medium-length haircut with beachy waves. If you have fine hair and need extra volume to achieve this look, a Pro Extensions body wave (http://bit.ly/poRL3N) could be the answer. Made from 100% human hair, the clip-in extensions are a perfect way to instantly add volume and luscious waves to any head of hair.

If you are thinking about bangs, short, blunt-cut hair is very popular. Celebrities such as Paris Hilton and Ashley Simpson have all sported the ultra-trendy style in recent months. But if you haven’t had bangs since you were in middle school and teased them with a rolling brush, the thought of bangs can be really scary. However, Pro Extensions clip-in fringe bangs (http://bit.ly/uFQVH1) can be a great solution. Designed to wear bluntly or side swept, these amazing bangs let you experiment with new styles without cutting your own hair.

And if highlights sound appealing, check out celeb-inspired dos like Sarah Jessica Parker or Khloe Kardashian. For those who are more adventurous, colored streaks such as pink, purple, red or blue could be fun. To help achieve similar highlighted looks, Pro Extensions offers a variety of highlight streak packs in colors such as platinum blonde, black, red, pink, purple, leopard, etc.

The holidays are fast approaching. And that means there will be many parties, gatherings and other special events to attend. Everyone wants to look their best, and that includes finding a cute hairstyle and applying the right makeup.

According to Monsters & Critics Lifestyle, this holiday season, retro hairstyles with a modern twist will be all the rage.

This means that sculpted and sleek hair will be in style, as will braids and oversized waves.

M&C states that if hair is worn down, it should be polished, but with a fluffy texture and soft volume. Additionally, hair worn curly should be slightly bouncy, with a bit of height at the crown.

One way to help achieve height in such hairstyles is with a Pro Pump. This product will help hair look “teased” and blends nicely your own natural hair. The Pro Pump comes in numerous colors, so matching your natural hair color will be breeze. Pro Pump’s barrette-like clips make putting the piece in easy. The Pro Pump can also be adjusted so you get as little or as much height as you want!

Hair worn up this holiday season should be in buns or chignons as it helps create a boho feel. The up dos should be designed to look somewhat messy, so teasing and imperfections make the look more stylish, M&C said.

To look refreshed for every big event without spending hours in front of the mirror, Marie Claire suggests applying concealer to the inner corners of the eye, then under the lower eyelashes and around the nose. Afterwards, apply some bronzer to your cheek bones.

If you’re worried about breakouts and how it will look in holiday photos, try wearing a warm shade of pink lipstick as it distracts from blemishes, Marie Claire said. Additionally, creating a sexy eye can be made simple by applying eye liner above the upper eyelashes, extending the line just past the outside edge of the eye.

If your skin feels dry and you’re pressed for time, another Marie Claire tip is to apply hair conditioner all over your body while in the shower, then rinse it off. The conditioner automatically sinks into the skin, providing much-need moisture!

Jack Frost may be nipping at your nose, but winter weather can be brutal on your hair. This winter, take extra precautions to protect your hair so it stays healthy and shiny all season.

If you have to go outside, haircareguide.com suggests covering your hair with a hat or scarf to protect from the wind and cold. Additionally, avoid going outside with wet hair as it can freeze, which could lead to breakage.

According to haircareguide.com, items that use heat for styling should be avoided, if possible, during the winter months as they deplete hair’s natural moisture and make it more prone to damage. If high-heat items such as blow dryers or straighteners have to be used, try applying a leave-in conditioner to your hair before styling.

A recent Teen Vogue article suggests washing your hair less during the winter months to help retain moisture. If the thought of not washing your hair every day totally grosses you out, try using a dry shampoo in between washes to eliminate excess oil.

Additionally, Teen Vogue recommends going to a beauty salon at least once a month during the winter to get deep conditioning treatments. Using frizz-ease serums can also help eliminate static associated with hat hair, etc.

The Lost Girls, a website featuring travel advice from three girls who embarked on a worldwide adventure, recommends using cooler water to wash hair as hot water can be damaging. They also suggest using a humidifier inside as heaters can draw moisture out of hair and make it dry and brittle.

Whether it’s buying gifts, mailing greeting cards or visiting family, the list of things to do during the holiday season can be overwhelming.

However, a little advanced planning and some quick budgeting can save you a lot of time and hassle.

First and foremost, everyone wants to look great for holiday events and pictures. To make sure you look your best for every party, plan your wardrobe and accessories in advance.

This can help save you the time of trying to decide what to wear and avoid rushing. Try on outfits or experiment with a new hairstyle a week before the function. This will allow you time to make any necessary adjustments or purchase any items with plenty of time to spare!

Before you begin to shop, make a list of people you plan to buy for. Then set a budget of how much you can afford to spend on each person. Writing things down on paper can help emphasize your budget and make you more likely to stick to it.

Once your list and budget have been established, start thinking about potential gifts that fall within your price range. During the holiday season, many stores send out circulars and fliers with special offers. Compare the discounts available and be sure you read the fine print. You don’t want to get roped into signing up for another store credit card you don’t really need. Shopping online is also a popular way to buy gifts, and many websites offer free shipping this time of year.

To avoid the post-holiday stress of a large credit card bill, you might also consider shopping for gifts throughout the year and storing them away. If this isn’t really your style, many banks offer holiday savings clubs in which you can set aside a specific amount of money each week. These funds can then be withdrawn just before the holidays, allowing you to be free to shop without racking up huge debts.

If you are the type of person who likes to send out holiday greeting cards, try buying next year’s cards at a post-holiday sale when these items are severely discounted. If you prefer to send picture cards, be sure to schedule your photo shoot well in advance. This is because many portrait studios are booked solid this time of year. Additionally, some studios take 2-4 weeks to get the pictures to you, so you want to allow plenty of time to actually mail the cards. Be sure to ask for permission slips, or purchase a package that allows for images to duplicated, in order to avoid any potential copyright issues.

As postage costs continue to rise, consider sending an e-greeting in place of a physical card. If traditional greeting methods are important to you, considering paring down your card list to just your closest friends and family.

It can also help save time if you address envelopes in advance. The earlier you mail cards the better. Delivery services get bogged down with extra parcels during the holidays, so you want to allow ample time for delivery.

When grocery shopping for holiday meals and parties, create a list of every event you plan to attend this season. Decide what you need to make, or bring, to each occasion. Then make a list of the supplies you will need to purchase. Having the necessary baking ingredients or supplies on hand can save time and gas by eliminating multiple trips to the grocery store.

So if you know you are attending three parties and need to bring a bottle of wine to each, just buy all three bottles in one shopping trip and save yourself the time of making a mad dash to the store 15 minutes before the party starts.

Use these great tips and enjoy a happy holiday season!

If you want healthier hair this Thanksgiving, try eating salmon in place of turkey. And instead of loading up on mashed potatoes, gravy and stuffing, scoop up plentiful portions of dark green veggies, beans, nuts, eggs and other low-fat dairy products.

According to many health experts, salmon is the number one food a person can eat to help create a healthy scalp. A WebMD article stated that salmon is not only a great source of protein; it’s packed with B vitamins, iron and Omega-3 fatty acids.

Los Angeles Dietician Andrea Giancoli, a spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association, said that an omega-3 deficiency can result in a dry scalp, which can cause hair to have a dull and lackluster appearance.

Beans are also good for your hair as they contain biotin, the WebMD article said. People with low biotin levels are at an increased risk for brittle hair. Kidney beans and other lentils are also filled with protein, which helps hair grow.

According to Giancoli, foods filled with protein, like poultry, also help hair maintain its color.

And even though no one likes oily hair, natural hair oils serve as ready-made conditioner, the article said. Therefore, stocking up on veggies like spinach and broccoli may not be a bad idea as those foods contain vitamins A and C, which help replenish hair’s natural oils.

And unless you have high cholesterol, A Ladies’ Home Journal article recommended that people eat red meat twice a week as it contains B vitamins, iron and zinc needed to help maintain healthy hair.

For more hair-enhancing foods, below is a list of the top foods for healthy hair according to WebMD

Salmon

Dark green veggies

Beans

Nuts

Poultry

Eggs

Whole Grains

Oysters

Low-fat dairy products

Carrots

By Guest Blogger: Krystal Wantz, Bella Online Hair Editor, www.bellaonline.com/site/hair.com

In this article I’m going to talk about some amazing extensions that I got to review. Pro Extensions are a company who sells amazing extensions, any color you would want or need and any length you desire. You can also choose between synthetic and human hair, and also if you want them to be curly, wavy or straight.

I received human hair clip in pieces, that way I could always curl them or whatever I wanted. Clip-in is the easiest to use considering it’s just a clip and snap and no glue is needed or heat. What I love about them is that I can put them in easy and take them out whenever so if you’re looking for something more permanent don’t go for the clip-in.

Proextensions.com offers a lot to you and gives you many options that way you have the perfect extensions that are perfect for you.

You can browse and possibly purchase these amazing extensions on this website www.proextensions.com.

If you would choose to purchase extensions from Pro Extensions they are offering and exclusive coupon to you personally. The discount code is “Bella” and it is for 10% off your purchase. Another great thing they offer is free overnight shipping.

I encourage you to take a look into this website to see what they have to offer.
